I guess the details will come out in Coroner's court. Who was the actual rider and passenger will be an interesting detail.

I can believe it as written, however I also wonder if that was the case. It's been dramatised in motor vehicle accidents, cases of injury/fatality the driver switching positions claiming not to be driving. Stereotypically it has been male driver female passenger. Riding motorcycles similarly male riders with female pillions dominate.

The rider usually has strong hold of the bars likely to low side with the bike, while the pillion is unprepared and more easily thrown off into a more dangerous high side crash. Ignoring all the million other crash scenarios with solid and pointy objects etc.

Yes lots to learn about this one. Nowhere does it say electric you may note, only powered. Also, in QLD it's illegal to "dink" someone. It's all a bit vague at this point.

Yeah presumably intentionally vague if they're seeking witnesses. Interesting research/stunts have been done about creating false long term memories in people.

The time of day is always interesting. Maybe he was too drunk to ride 'his' powered bicycle.
Usually they mention if helmets weren't used.
Powered bicycles are popular amongst Asian students around Bond Uni as are electric scooters.

I wonder if they will release further details - the lack of information seemed more than would be necessary to avoid contaminating witnesses.
