If they were serious they would look at the German model and see what they could adopt and adapt. Instead they will just dumb it down while talking it up. Just watch.

They have only recently upgraded the whole learn to drive process, 100 hours that is required to be logged over a min 12 months and the three years of driving with P plates..... the first kids who went through on the new system are only just coming off their P's and going onto their open licenses, I have one of them at my house!
I would have thought that the government would be looking at the stats after these kids turn 25 before looking at changing the whole system again!
The whole log book thing is flawed, so many parents and kids fake entries...how do you control or verify this???
It is the legal system and courts that need to be looked into so that there are greater penalties for repeat offenders, although for a small group it wouldn't matter what penalties were given they will flout the law regardless...ie the guy from Ipswich recently
