Proposal: Sydney congestion charge

Postby g-boaf » Tue May 07, 2013 7:50 am

Another proposal has been forwarded for a congestion charge on vehicles in Sydney.

This is quite a good idea. But since it is proven by multiple people here (and cited in laws) that bicycles are vehicles on the road, will cyclists be happy to pay the charge too?

I wouldn't, but then I doubt bikes would be charged anyway, further infuriating non-cyclists.

I'd be happy to pay a direct RUC based on reasonable cost recovery.

I'll even stump up $50 now to pre pay my way.

Should be right for the next five or so years :D

Well, it does say "motor vehicles", so that would naturally exclude Bicycles.
