Postby Aushiker » Mon Jan 20, 2014 9:56 am

For a little fun ... Boris Johnson's Cycle Safety Test. I didn't do to well, scoring 5/6.

I think it's a 'safety test' designed to take the piss out of Boris. I tried to treat it as serious and scored 1/6. No feedback given, just the abiltiy to Tweet or FB post your results.

That was a waste of thirty seconds of my life.

Yay me, perfect score.[/sarcasm]

Tapatalk did this...
...whatever the road rules, self-preservation is the absolute priority for a cyclist when mixing it with motorised traffic.

Okay I give up

Here is just a small sample of the recent headlines ...

Boris Johnson accused of dodging responsibility over cycling deaths

Boris Johnson blames cycling victims and ignores the bull in the china shop

Boris under pressure over HGV rush-hour ban after another cyclist fatality

and they go on ...

Perfect score here :-)

Apart from the Evel Kneval question, the other responses can be all attributed to Boris - This article from the Guardian is a good reference

Since the date of that article the coroner and courts have found cases of negligence and dangerous driving on the part of many drivers involved. Yet they have been let off with a slap on the wrist with a wet bus ticket  The families of the deceased have been left distraught.

So I'd really put the blame more squarely where it fits. Boris has little influence over ignorant, agressive drivers. Who sets the road rules in the UK? Who determines penalties?
