If only our state governments could see this. Even when our city councils DO want to make changes they are commonly hampered by state road authority or in NSW the politicians themselves.
Victoria Parade in Melbourne recently was revamped, except it was done in a way that increased its hostility to cyclists. Now for large parts the left hand land is bus only with no infrastructure for cyclists. VicRoad's response was cyclists have Albert street, so we've decided to make this more hostile for cyclists as they shouldn't be riding on this road.
