Hoon drivers targeted by road spray

That would burn through the skin nicely if a cyclist came off.

What a load of BS that news article talks about. It's like when there was a media release on a special paint coating applied to certain buildings to combat graffiti. If there is such a coating the hoons will know where it has been applied and test it out.
In the morning, we RIDE.

It's probably not a special surface at all, just the coarsest aggregate they can get away with (14mm?). Typically when resealing with spray seal they would alternate between coarse and fine each application too, so it could be just 'normal' resealing with a marketing twist.

They don't care anyway - isn't that why they buy sh!tty old steel wheels with cheap tyres on them? Front has normal nice alloy wheels, back has crappy steel wheels. Almost a dead give away for them.

The rougher surface will also make it harder to skid though. At the end of the day they will continue to do this, but just find somewhere else.

Is this news? I've seen a similar thing in carparks before, except it was in bands, nicely designed for them to get up a bit of spin, then hit the coarse chip and tear their diff out.

Burnout rimz for daaaaaaays maaaaaate!

That's my local council, can't see I've seen any obviously specially treated roads in my town but council don't give a rats about us. Might check out MacDougall Rd. Popular area with the screechers even tho it's a trap if Plod wanted to get serious
