A cyclist game to grief, seriously, against a bus at the bus stop just west of the intersection of Challenger and Marmion, Melville today.
There is a narrow bike lane but the road is a long curve slightly to the right which makes for a substantial blind spot from the drivers seat.
While we don't know the details yet (a witness or witnesses say the rider ran into the bus' rear but eye witnesses are notoriously unreliable, as are TV news channels), a couple of reminders - Roadworks screw up well designed traffic infrastructure. And there are lots of blind spots on roads regardless of drivers and cyclists abilities.
Read the road ahead. You are the vulnerable vehicle.

Tragically the cyclist did not recover. Another tragedy.
As well as sympathies for those close to the rider, we should also be aware of the effect that incidents like this have on those witnessing. Passengers, driver, the various professionals that have to take these things home with them - cops, ambo's etc.
Thankfully this forum is moderated but there are times when you just want to scream out f#$(AT)!
