Yup. Definitely. Hopefully the first swallow of spring.

I normally avoid the comments section but in this case I looked. And sure enough we had "but Sydney's so big and busy and special" as reasons why it can't work.

Plus all the usual "death and chaos" comments.

This video from jasonc over in the MM thread really illustrates why we should be allowed to ride on the footpath, especially to bypass dangerous sections of roadway.

While Jason has every right to take the road here if he wants to, it should NOT be illegal to take the safer route as the other cyclist in the video does.

Ok that might have been a bike path there, I don't know the area. But I can think of lots of examples of similar cases where a footpath is a much safer option to bypass a bad section of road, but still illegal to do so here.

Hi All,

Just a brief note to say I'm still on to it.
Just been busy. Have read all posts, with thanks!
I see that change.org for NSW (to raise age, from 12, to 16) has had > 13k signatures.
That may have been a significant influence.

For Vic, and for NSW too, I hope it will be for any age.

Many Group B riders I have talked with are keen.
Discussed with a local council's key people. They have some influence with State too.
And am still hoping for inputs to the 14 questions/objections in my previous post -please.

A belated Merry Christmas. And a Happy :-) New Year
