I'm feeling very sad and angry about this too.
Cameron has been very helpful to me with submitting reports to police.
Although we never met in person, I feel sad as this feels personal.
And I am angry with the situation as I feel the Qld police are culpable in this for being so resistive to take his safety seriously.

I have drafted & deleted a couple of posts. Lets just say I am saddened by his loss and angry at the low value Qld police placed on his life.

This is such sad, sad news. I too am angry at the "no hit no foul" attitude Cameron received from the police.
One hit, and a passionate cyclist, father, and major asset to this forum is gone. Words fail.

I’m totally lost for words. I don’t know the circumstances of this, but I know he always ran cameras.
If there is a line in the sand on the inaction of the MPD enforcement, it was just crossed.
RIP BianchiCam

I hope that your death is not for nothing. I really hope that there are some very nervous senior QLD police and politicians and that this moment is when we all say that enough is enough. This far and no further!

I guess we will have to wait until further details become revealed, but this certainly would appear that it requires some sort of follow up. Bianchi's antics with the Beerwah ploddery were well documented. Perhaps when others have had the opportunity to process this event, and if it is deemed appropriate to current circumstances, some sort of media pressure should be applied to the relevant persons. These laws were specifically introduced in lieu of events that on previous occassions Bianchi documented and the low bar half-arsery in the guise of police apathy has to be addressed sooner or later.

Terribly sad news. He was a tireless advocate for cyclists' safety and the unjustness of his passing is devastating.

I have no words to say either. I am just gutted. It would be nice to think that the local constabulary will respond to this by making some attempt to improve the way the law is enforced. Sadly I am not hopeful. If it turns out that the perpetrator has featured previously on bianchicam's videos then the police will have some serious questions to answer, not least from his family.

Could happen to any of us, doubly sad that it happened to someone who was going out of his way to try and improve things. RIP bianchicam.

Lacking the words to discuss the loss of BianchiCam.

Another cyclist lost their life on South-Western Highway in WA today:
https://thewest.com.au/news/south-weste ... 881013390z
Police, paramedics and firefighters responded to the crash at the South Western Highway and Russell Road intersection about 8.40am.

Police have confirmed a male cyclist died at the scene.

I'm with you on that. It's a terrible thing and it could happen to any of us. I don't have a lot else to say, my mood is about as despondent as everyone else.

I spotted this on another forum, its from the US but the fact it was clearly intentional is simply deplorable.

Police are saying it was a random running down. Shades of Eric Edgar Cook, last man hanged in WA.

There is nothing we can do about some types other than treating their issues before tragedy. Instead governments just cut mental health programs when it suits.

I never met Cameron (like many of us) but I felt he spoke for all of us, all of the time.

I don’t know if I have ever felt the death of a stranger this deeply. There is a Gofundme page for his family which I will support and let’s hope that something good can come of this.

I ride this road semi regularly and it has deep shoulders for bikes so puzzled about the how here (it does appear it happened when a road enters from the left and merges).

Gutted...
