Greenway is go - by the looks of it

The 'Green way' a so called cycleway linking the cooks river cycle path to the Bay Run (another shared path) looks like it is go:

Apparently the masterplan has been adopted, although this is no guarantee of completion, masterplans can be scrapped at last minute.

In addition to that, the link might not be so useful because we hear there is a growing movement to ban cycling from the Cooks River cycleway:

IMO, crucial infrastructure shouldn't face those kinds of threats. Nobody closes a motorway because a few people don't like cars going along the motorway. The attitude must be that this infrastructure is important, it is staying open and bicycle riders will not be banned from it.

On the SMH article, the comment by DW in the comments section is superb:
".....In 2011, then transport minister Gladys Berejiklian shelved plans for the greenway because she regarded the estimated cost of $37 million at the time as too expensive...."

Damn Right.

Just think what that money could do - Bairdijiklian Inc. need that cash for another toll gate on the Sydney Intergalactic Bypass. Or it could fund the building of 3 corporate booths in the new Stadiums. Or 4 years worth of consultancy fees for coal seam gas exploration. Or.......
Ouch!
