Best way of clamping a Trek in a work stand?

How do you guys support your Treks with the Ride Tuned seatmast topper in work stands with clamp attachments? Do you clamp onto the seat tube below the topper, clamp onto the topper or clamp onto the top tube?

Agreed. But if you don't have one of those but rather a clamp style stand instead then what is the best way to clamp the bike?

I've had no problems clamping to the topper. My mechanic is ex pro team so I presume he knows what he's doing?
