Everyone I've ever spoken to slates the Tufo's in terms of ride and handling compares with traditional tubulars. What say you?
Very early days for me. I've gone very narrow (19mm) and I've had one Crit on it, but so far so good. One thing though, I didn't end up using the tape, they were glued on like normal. Not sure if that makes a difference. I really do like the Vittoria Evo Tech singles, but I've just been suffering too many punctures using them and they are bloody expensive.

I have the tufo 19's on my front TT wheel, it is a hell of a tiny tire :o . I was also told they are very fragile, but I haven't had an issue with it... although on the TT bike you probably don't hammer it like you would on a road bike.
Under 7kgs :D .

Finished!

Weighed it at the LBS and it came in just under 6.7kg as is. Rides very well, as good as I hoped. Now all I have to do is start training enough to do it some sort of justice. :D

What happened to it? Hopefully it won't take as long to get out here to you this time.

Gotta say, I'm loving the CAAD 10 I picked up from Sean at Chilli last week!

cheers

well to be honest I never expected a replacement to be the result. The bracket that holds the front deraileur on does not allow you to align it 100% correct. Sean and Nicko at Chilli managed to make it work, but it still wasn't 100%. So Sean contacted Cannondale and they said they would replace the whole thing. I was a little suprised to say the least. Sean at Chilli is handling the whole thing which is awesome. All i have to do is wait.

Good to see that Chilli persuaded Cannondale to come on board for you - gives me ample confidence if ever anything goes awry with mine!

3 frames in total, 3 frames with the same problem. Not sure where this leaves me now as there are no more of these frames in the country with this paint job. :?

I think they are trying to sort something out now. The LBS has been very good, and so far so has Cannondale. I don't know what the result will be yet, but it won't be the same paint job. This has been a long project :?

It's off to be repaired. Apparently the guy who is doing it is very good. I hope so. About 2 weeks to go apparently. This has been a bit of a dissappointing project. The last 3 road bikes I've bought have been Cannondales without even seriously considering another product during that time. But this has left a bit of a sour taste. :?

The positive to the whole saga will be when you finally get to ride it in anger mate - it looks like a fantastic rig and once you're let loose, you'll be laughing.

cheers

ummm......still going if you can believe it. It is to be repaired and repainted. I hope it comes up alright. Raul is doing the repair, and from all accounts he is one of the best in the business. My LBS is doing what they can but it is a trying time. I hope I haven't waited all this time for a result that isn't acceptable.

Righty-o. six months to the day from my first post I have it back. The repair is un-noticeable to me and all looks great. I will take it out on the week-end weather permitting. I've bought another set of 404's so I can keep them on it permanently. I've come around to the whole "what's the point of having race wheels if you only use them a few times a month" point of view. I'll be riding Zipp tub's almost everywhere.

No point posting any more photos as it looks the same as it did.

Saw your rig down the club last Sunday and it looks fantastic. Didn't see you at all - perhaps because I was too busy picking the road out of my jersey / knicks and legs after my crash...

cheers

Sad to hear you had a crash mate. What happened?

It wasn't mine you saw. It must have been GT's. His is the same frame except SRAM red. Very nice setup. I'll be back in the groove at the club in a month or so.

Hope you recover ok.

Cheers mate - not too bad, just a few sore bits and some bike adjustments required.

Hope to catch you out at a race / Sunday loop soon.

I spotted George riding a bike very similar in appearance to yours to victory last Friday night at the Endeavour St crit.

Hopefully yours is faring well - or has the derailleur hanger played up again?

cheers
