Hello Dale fans. I have a 2013 Supersix 3. Everything is stock in the headset area. I am dropping the bars down a little by moving a couple of the spacers from under the stem to n top of it. All fairly straight forward.
But how do I set up the expander plug? I've done it up snug with a little tension and then done the stem up. But it doesn't seem to have put any tension on the headstem? Is this normal? I can turn the spacers under the stem easily by hand. Is this ok?

No, you have mucked it up somewhere... You probably didn't need to touch the plug ... But anyway you did, I would say the plug is not down deep enough and the cap nut is bottoming out before It puts any tension on the spacers. Try dropping the plug down 5mm

Ok. I've got it sussed. I've never had a bike with a carbon steerer before so haven't used expansion plugs. I didn't see it had an inner and an outer hex. I had only tightened the inner. Doh!
