Looking at buying the 2014 synapse carbon 5 105... can only find a couple of reviews... Anyone out there got one? Saw one in the LBS and it looked awesome!! Couldn't test ride as they didn't have one in my size.... Sigh

I just picked up my black Synapse Carbon 5 on Friday last week. I've only been able to put 40km on it, but so far I love it. It's my first carbon bike and I'm not finding much use for the small chain ring - it just flys up hills. 8.5kg for a 61cm frame with no pedals. I actually had to buy mine unseen, because they didn't have any in my size in stock. They did let me ride a 61cm 2013 carbon 3 to see if the frame fit.
I've had a few glitches in the rear derailleur, but I should just need to do some fettling to sort that out. I'm pretty impressed with the ride over rough roads. I don't wince and dodge anymore - just plough straight through and the bike soaks it up. Fit and finish is really nice - it's a good looking bike.
There's a few videos on youtube on the Synapse - Bike Radar is one.
Cheers,
Muz

Thanks muz. I bit the bullet and bought one too. So far I love it!! My riding partners joked today about how much less pedalling I do now - it just flys downhill and is very smooth over bumps. I also noticed that I'm in the big chain ring most of the time even on hills. Very happy with the purchase and would highly recommend it!
