Running 25c tyres on CAAD10

Hi CAAD10 owners,

I've got a size 56 CAAD10 and have tried running 25c GP4000s rather than the standard 23c tyres and have run into issues with clearance on the underside of the fork crown.
Running the 25's at anything approaching 90psi or above there is significant rubbing on the underside of the fork crown to the point where I've rubbed off the paint to expose bare carbon.
Deflating the tyres to around 80psi provides clearance initially but this clearance can be quickly reduced when general road grime as a result of poor weather builds up on the tyres.
I'm not sure if its an issue with the GP's as I've heard that some tyres run a slighly larger diameter than others, or perhaps its to do with limited clearance on the forks fitted to the size 56 frames compared to the forks fitted to size 58 frames?

Have any of you CAAD10 owners successfully run 25c tyres at normal pressues (100+psi) and if so, what brands have you used?

the forks are likely the same for all size frames i would assume.

i've not run GP4000's, but my 25mm gatorskins were quite small compared to other tyres i've used.
keep in mind that you can run the 25's at lower pressures too. or even a 25 on the rear and 23 up front will still give you some added comfort.

A good point about running a 25 on the back and a 23 on the front.
What sort of pressure are you running when on 25's? 80psi seemed a bit too low and squishy for me when I ran them.

Sz 58cm CAAD10 and did run Conti GP4000s in 25mm for a while at 105-115psi - no issues at all with fork clearance, but did have an issue with rear brake caliper bridge sometimes fouling the tyre - contributed to by my hefty mass and the fact the wheelset I was using at the time was a little out of radial true. Once fixed - no issues at all.

ContiGP4000s in 25mm are a large tyre though - some have said almost as large as 28mm.

I have run 27mm Vittoria Pave no problem and even 28mm Maxxis Refuse and had no problem front or back and that's on a 52cm frame.

Another rear brake arch scratches on gravelly roads here. Never had any front issues. CAAD10, 25mm GP4000s

I've run Continental GP4000s in 25mm on my CAAD9 with no issues, but they are definitely a big tyre. I'm currently using 25mm Gatorskins and they're closer to the GP4000 in 23mm than the 25mm in bag size.

If it's rubbing I'd give it a miss. Personally I think those massive tyres look out of place on a roadie. It's not CX ... or XC.

I'm sure you're not referring to 25mm tyres as massive since this is what has become common in the pro-peloton (while 28mm and 30mm are used in Paris-Roubaix).

Veloflex 25c works with my caad10. Plenty of clearance to support any pressure. The conti tyres have a larger volume balloon shape.

Yep, but the Veloflex 25mm runs a tad smaller than 25mm though - these tyre mobs are a royal pain when their tyres never match the sizes the stamp/print on the sidewalls...
