Smoother than the Supersix Evo Hi Mod?

Postby zill » Tue Sep 29, 2015 12:29 am

This bike is the best all round, smoothest race bike I've ridden. Out of curiosity, has anyone ridden this bike and another race bike that is even smoother and more comfortable?

Reviews suggest that the Bianchi Infinito CV might be the answer to your question. But I have ridden neither so can't comment first hand.

I am not familiar with a super six evo but;

Your question falls into a very grey zone, bike frames and models are made for different applications there are aero TT bike which may not ride nice whilst a roadie may be more compliant. Also other factors effect ride, material such as carbon vs aluminum, different wheels, tyres, etc.

I do believe the question has no real definitive answer unless you tested a number of bikes with exactly the same componentry but only changed the frame.

This would be a time consuming and expensive experiment.

So I don't believe anyone can answer this question objectively

I know its time consuming that is why I am hoping people here have already make some comparisons.

Unfortunately,

I think you are just going to get the sales and marketing from the manufacture. And this as we know can be taken as a pinch of salt.

All you get is this percentage better than last model and so on.

I did google the bike and it does sound like a top end ride, so I don't think you can go to far wrong selecting this model.

It's a fact that not all bikes ride the same, even if they are a top model. For example the Ceverlo R5 and S works Tarmic are really mediocre in my opinion.

I test rode a Super Six on a shop ride day vs a number of bikes. Here are my opinions:

• Supersix Evo Hi Mod is laterally stiff. The Specialized S-Works Tarmac is stiffer.
• Supersix Evo Hi Mod is smooth. My Cinelli Best of Pro is smoother.
• Vertical compliance (part of smooth)
• Supersix Evo Hi Mod is a good all-rounder. Look 695 is the ultimate all-rounder, makes the Supersix Evo Hi Mod look like a BMX.

I have a Super6 and a System6 ... Super6 is a wee bit flexy to say the least, but it is more comfy. They are both aerodynamic bricks off course... have you seen the head tube on a System6  ... Super6 is a smidgen better.
The Super6 does allow me to run my prefered 28r25f combo ... can't get a 28 in the rear of a System6.
But hey they were both free so who am I to complain ... thanks Cannondale :D

Can you get the Cinelli in Australia?

How smooth and comfortable is the Look 695 though compared to the Cannondale?

I would've said 23.5% - if accuracy was key here........

Definitely has 46.3% more confirmation bias.

I've actually heard Look frames are stiffer and have a harsher ride than the cannondale bikes.

Well, yeah, if you just ride the frame but they're comparable once you add the wheels too ;-)

FWIW, always rated BMC SLR01 as THE all rounder tried a supersix evo HM (see other posts in this forum) after 500k flogged it and now sit back on a BMC.
Chalk and cheese. BMC smooth as silk and responsive .... just as light too.

I echo Flex's thoughts. Can only vouch for 2013 models but the BMC slr01with its creamy ride (the only way to really describe it) ranks as equal best that I own and ridden. The Giant TCR advanced sl is about on par with it and would say is better value for money. And someone mentioned the Bianchi Infinito CV before - thats not a race geo bike more your Endurance GF bike. Thats nice also especially when you can put 28c's on and use it in a cyclocross sort of way like I do. Great for Rail trails and the sort (or exploring places you really aren't sure about!)...

Edit: And then there is Titanium which if you really want smooth is prob the only way to go...

The BMC is too ugly for me so never ridden it. People have told me it's stiffer than the cannondale but not as comfortable. To be honest, after riding the cannondale, I can't see how it can be improved!
