They came with blue pads. I'll double check if they are swisstop

The pads are blue but I can't see swisstop written on them.

Apparently they are not SwissStop Blue.

Anyone familiar with it? Wonder if I should just wack in the SwissStop Greens I have lying around.

The Ashima pads are fine.

I had Swiss Stops in the stock callipers before I replaced them with the Fouriers.

The Fouriers with the Ashima pads are far superior. So I see no reason not to give them a go.

Not that I'm going to upgrade my BB... Just out of curiosity has anyone used a BBInfinite bottom bracket?

Nope but just ordered a Chris King Press Fit 24 from Pushys to replace the recently fitted Wheels Manufacturing one I just put in that sounds like it's grinding the buggery out of my cranks.

Hopefully it'll be quiet as a mouse :D

Hey guys,

I wasnt on the lookout for a new bike but have come across a 2014 European Propel Advanced 1 LTD which is described as "the exact same model as the Australian 2015 Giant Propel Advanced 1, but with the black/white frame on the 2015 Giant Propel Advanced 2" at a very good price, leaving me only slightly out of pocket if i sell my current (2012) SST2.0.

Obviously the Propels in general are reviewed well, is there anything i should be on the look out for when i go to check it out in the flesh? Is there any easy way to tell if it's the 2014 or 2015 brakes?

Frame color schemes generally tell you what year the bike is. Check the brakes also. The 2015 model has TRP brakes. That said, the 2014 brakes are !! BAN ME NOW FOR SWEARING !! so a lot of people have either upgraded to the 2015 brakes or even better to the fouriers aftermarket brakes.

Just a quick question, were the brakes around the opposite way? ie front/left, rear/right. I think this is standard in Europe, no?
It also why the Fouriers brakes are set up around the other way on the front caliper.

Yep, brakes are reversed. Will need to swap them the right way around when i change the bars over.

Is there any way to extend the Integrated seat post on the Propel SL? I need to add 40mm but not sure if it's possible!

You can throw the spacers that came with the bike under the clamp. You'll get some extra reach to a point.

Looking at the propel advanced pro 0 2015. Seems a good deal for di2 with decent wheels and nice looking bike. Seems to perform well from reviews.

Anyone want to convince me one way or another?

Yeah cheapest I've seen is $4500. Unfortunately cant see too many reviews around. Was just wondering how people found the ride.

I have the 2014 model and it's brilliant. I'd assume the 2015 is slightly better.

Thanks. It stands out nicely :)

Missing my di2 though...

The frame is a warranty replacement for my older defy which had mech ultegra.

I'm rocking di2 hydro on my ti commuter, so this is quite the contrast.

Same frames, minor component tweaks, most notably the brakes - the TRPs fitted to the '13 & '14 models were pretty ordinary. No details yet for the imminently-released '16 models, but not expecting anything drastic.
I had a thought, but it got run over as it crossed my mind.

Planning to pimp up my Ti Commuter with Di2 + hydro again. I am just trying to save some coins for FD and RD. I have all the other parts ready to roll.
Just upgrade your propel to Di2 mate. You will love it even more if you do that :D
