Got this frame second hand for 800 , stripped it and rebuilt using my parts.

Image

Just finished rebuilding this to fit my wife, she has 40cm bars and cross brakes and platform pedals and likes to sit more upright on the bike

Great looking bikes lennes!

My First one is my 2012 defy advanced 2. Purchased as a frameset so it is running 9 speed tiagra from my first bike (09 defy 1) It has been a great bike and gets the job done! Will probably go to the mrs if we can dial in the fit.

These next 2 are my current projects. A TCR sl1 rabobank and a TCR sl0. It has been a whirl wind couple of months after i picked up the Rabobank while in adleaide over xmas. the build has changed directions more than i care to remember (so far 4 groupset changes on the rabo). But i think its finalised and will be coming together soon! will be back with pics of them both once complete!

Yeah that's the aim. I am just bummed the ISP is too short for me to use it :( Rabo was my dream bike when I first go introduced to road bikes but the near all matte black is just awesome!

The Giant Long head ISP topper has a lot of spacers you should be able to get the seat height you need, using the minimum insertion you can get an extra 7cm of height.

Otherwise how else were you going to do it ?

It was measured differently to how I measured the Rabo when shopping for it. And the picture advertising it was obviously pre ISP cut which was why I thought the measurement was right. With the long topper filled with spacers it's 3cm short :-(

Can only get 5cm out of the long topper not 7cm with the toppers I have

Not sure where you are based but Carbon Cycles Repairs in Perth can extend the ISP for you, pretty sure other carbon repairs can do the same thing

http://www.carboncyclerepairs.com.au/be ... -after.php

They have an example where they extended it 100mm on this page

I ordered a replacement from my Giant dealer last nov, from the minimum insertion mark to the center of the saddle rail it's 7cm on the model I got.

The 9000 is sublime, the best shifting and braking yet from Shimano, the extra leverage on the FD is great for a quick shift, the hoods are better shape as well.
The cranks is extremely stiff, so a lot better than some of the lighter models

Might measure 70mm in that pic, however you're only able to put 40mm of spacers in/under the seat clamp.

Ah, I see what you mean, so 5cm is the max

Maybe you could use a TCR Advance Aero seat post, that might fit inside the isp, then you you could cut it , make it a stubby post and then clamp it where the existing ISP ends

'05 TCR Composite 2 (essentially the equivalent of the current Advanced 1) - First year of 6600 10-sp. Ultegra. Only changes from stock are the addition of aerobars, the "long-range" rear bottle rack (I'm not a triathlete, I used to do a lot of solo long-distance stuff), and the 38mm Gravity-Zero carbon clinchers. Doesn't get out as much as it used to, but it's still a bloody nice ride.

I've also got a '06 OCR 3 for commuter duties, but don't have a pic 'cos it's a bit of a hack....

Don't think it'll work; I have a feeling the ISP and the regular TCR/Defy post are diferent profiles.

Couple of average pics....

Custom spec Propel Adv SL 0 w/ DA9000 C50 CLs, Stages PM, Fouriers brakes and most obvious change frame swapped out for the black version.

This one started life as a Joe Average Defy... C50s and DA7970 DI2 and in recent weeks swapped out to DA9000 cranks and Stages also.

Agreed... Top looking bike!

Bars I get, but what made you go with the 3T stem?
I had read that the 3T stem might not fit the Giant because of the OD2 overdrive system?
