Bars I get, but what made you go with the 3T stem?
I had read that the 3T stem might not fit the Giant because of the OD2 overdrive system?
Ah. I hadn't read that. I guess I will answer that question in a couple of days... stand by for my success or failure with the new stem!

I'm a fan of 3T gear and I really wanted to replace the Contact SLR stem. I know it's strong and a good stem, but I've just had a bit of an issue with it ever since I rode this bike for the first time. I just don't like it. Not a great reason I know, but it has always seemed a little out of place to me.

Thanks for the comments on the bike. I'm really happy with it. And it makes me seem like a much better rider than I actually am...

3T stem will be 1 1/8" so won't fit as the OD2 is 1 1/4".

Ritchey make a stem which fits. Just put one on my propel with new bars.

Looks like the Giant stem will stay a bit longer then. I can find a nice home for the 3T stem on my other ride fortunately. Just didn't even consider the 'oversized' steerer tube, oh well, not to worry...

EDIT - looks like FSA make a K-Force stem in 1 1/4" also. Might go that route instead.

FSA also make some stems compatible with the 1 1/4" steerer tube. :-)
I had a thought, but it got run over as it crossed my mind.

True true. Hard to find mind you.

The stem Canyon use is 1.25 too from memory.

Yeah, I thought so... Was keen on a 3T stem and some Ergonova bars myself, but didnt think the Stem would work.

Any pics of your new stem / bars?
How come you swapped out? Dont the propel come with an Aero bar / integrated stem?

And, my question on the C50's on the previous page. I think you might have missed it...
Thanks!

Thanks!

Sorry thought I'd replied. Oops!

Wanted to change stem length for starters, and liked the Zipp bars. Although now Enve have finally released their aero bar. Doh!

C50s are great. Quality wheelset with pretty decent weight for an alloy braking surface and non tubs. Value for money you can't go wrong, plus they're pretty much bombproof for my fat ass!

I picked them up at my local for about $1700 ish from memory.

Rebuilt with 6800
Ultegra 6800 is a fantastic group. Bit much for a rain bike, but oh well.

Awesome doggatas. That's an aggressive fit, I like it. The newer ultegra crank is sooooo much nicer than the old one. It was such an awful hunk of grey blandness.

Great looking bike. Love it.

My name is Benny. I'm from Sydney Australia. I currently ride a Giante (joking) Propel SL1. Specs are:

- Dura Ace 9000 (53/39 & 11-12)
- Giant stem (not a whole heap of choice here aside from FSA and the yet to be released PRO stem)
- Prologo scratch nack carbon saddle (inc carbon rails)
- DA9000 pedals
- Stages DA9000 power meter
- Garmin Edge 510 on garmin rubber band mount
- Dura Ace 9000 C35 w/ Conti GP4000S
- Giant carbon bottle cages

In the next few weeks there will be a few changes:
- Fouriers pro team brakes front and rear
- 52/38 & 11-28 drive train
- DI2 DA9070 upgrade w/ internal battery

At the moment without pedals and the Garmin mount etc it weighs about 7.15kgs. That was with the Giant PSLR1 wheels. I'll get a proper weight this week with everything on it race ready.

Any questions please shout.

It's actually a Shimano sticker. Same as the Giant sticker on the fork
