Hi Guys
Got a questions for you Giant experts....
I currently have a 2011 Giant Defy Advanced 2 (with 105 group set), and a friend has offered to sell me his 2012 Giant Defy Composite 1 (with ultegra drive train, 105 brakes) for cheap.
I was just wondering which would be the better bike?
2012 Giant Defy Composite 1 is a newer bike, ultegra drive train, but I heard the frame is not as stiff might be slightly heavier. Is this true? If so, how much heavier?
Would I be better off with ultegra components with a lower grade carbon frame or a higher grade carbon frame with 105 components?
Thanks
2012 Giant Defy Composite 1 vs 2011 Giant Defy Advanced 2

There's really very little to split the two. Although the Composite is a lower grade carbon, in reality you're not likely to feel any major difference, especially given they both came out of the same moulds (although the Defy series was updated for 2012, the '09-'11 Advanced moulds were used for another year to produce the new-for-'12 Composite model). There's not that much to split the components in the real world either.
I had a thought, but it got run over as it crossed my mind.
