Has anyone had a look at the 2018 ANTHEM 29ER 2 in person? Maaaan, the colour is gawdy!!

But apart from it's glow in the dark orange/red.....can anyone tell me the weight of them? in say a size large? or medium?
Cheers,
Kev

That's for the top-line Pro model. The aluminium model that's being queried is somewhat heavier, although I haven't weighed one to know exactly what it clocks in at.
I had a thought, but it got run over as it crossed my mind.

Correct!!

So, I was on the phone last night to the LBS.....old mate weight it as we spoke. With basic pedals the 2018 ANTHEM 29ER 2 was weighing in at 13.2kg for a size L.

15.2 for the 2018 Trance 3

Kev

No. Only the higher-spec 0 and 1 models are listed on the Australian shopping list.

On the GCN show today, they mentioned the Defy & Avail both have received UCI approval for a new frame, so 2019 bikes will see a refresh!

Which is in line with Giant's production run schedule. The official '19 model range launch is in late July, although many of the "Recreational" range have just landed this week.

The 2019 models cant come soon enough. Keen for the R7000 105 upgrades and to see whether they keep that semi hydraulic system!

Early-release 2019 models are up on the website now. This is not the full range yet, the rest will come after the formal launch in about a month.

The rest of the Giant range is being launched next week, so the details will be up then. Some models which aren't getting a frame update have been sneaking out over the past few weeks.

You know if the TCR disc will finally integrate the caliper hose into the fork?

Hasn't got a sneak mention in UCI's approved equipment list, so it won't happen until the next frame generation, next year at the earliest.

Cyclingtips has the first ride of the top end (for now at least) Defy Advanced 0 c/w Giants own d/s powermeter.

Other models colours (or lack of since everything is craptastic black again) shown at the bottom.

The "black" on some models is no ordinary black.

Black is pretty boring but if someone finds a bike they like they're probably ok with it being black, it's pretty neutral. If it's red/yellow/blue/pink/polka dot/whatever a lot of people straight won't ever buy that bike purely because they don't like that colour.

Have they put some of the sparkly stuff in it that catches the light? That'd make it a bit snazzier.

Yeah, the colour title on some models is "Rainbow Black"... It's got glittery stuff in it which makes a rainbow effect at certain light angles. I haven't seen it in the flesh yet, but have seen pics. Looks a bit funky.

Apparently some other colours get the treatment too.
