Easy Upgrades

Hi All,

Current bike is a Giant TCR Advanced 1 Disc - https://www.giant-bicycles.com/au/tcr-advanced-1-disc

I was just wondering what easy and relatively inexpensive upgrades could be made to such a bike as I go? I've only had it for a couple months, really happy with it, and much better than my intro-level bike before it, but I just wanted to see where I can make pretty easy gains on it really, and what components are easily upgraded to get the most out of a bike. It's completely standard at the moment.

Let me know if there is a current thread I should be using instead of creating a new one...?

Lovely Bike. Really Nice. Not a lot to do really. Second set of high end carbon wheels maybe. Garmin if you haven't got one already and a power meter maybe for some people...

But I'd be riding that like I'd stole it.. really fast....

Edit: ok too expensive? The inexpensive option is to get like a Garmin 520 or equivalent and a cadence sensor and work on your pedal stroke/cadence. Aim for between 90-100rpm on the flat and try to keep it high up the hills.

PS or if you are having any niggling pain after 40-50kms a you-beaut proper bike fit. I'm still in denial with that one.

Cheers. I do love it. I often go into my spare room just to look at it ha ha. Must look into a computer of some sort indeed. It sucks keeping it clean with the colour it is!!

There it is. You don't need to upgrade your bike, you need to upgrade by adding another bike. One for a different purpose is normal, but you might buy the same again and one for rain and one for dry.

I notice it's got the same PR-2 wheels and tyres as my Contend which was half the price. So I'd say an upgraded set of lighter wheels. Otherwise - can't see anything else to upgrade!

Thanks Mububban....I think the colour adds another element of "you can't miss me on the roads in my bright attire!!"

Ya, I think it looks like I'll have to look into some lightweight wheels and I'm pretty set.

.... So I'd say an upgraded set of lighter wheels.

I believe those wheels without the big metal disc brakes attached are quite light. Maybe try some of those.
