Three years ago I had to relocate to Hong Kong where road cycling isnt exactly safe, so I had to sell my CAAD10 and give up cycling for the time being.
Now that i've moved back to Melbourne, I can get back on the saddle!
Here is my new BMC TimeMachine TMR02.
Went on 40km ride the other day and had a blast! However my avg speed was waaaaaay lower than what it was 3 years ago Time to get my ass on the saddle!
The stem will soon be flipped and lowered by one or two spacers.

Remind me you are a 53cm
has to be a neg 10 stem 120 or 130.
I still run my Cadel Easton TKO bars ...good luck finding a set and theyre heavy 260 ish g for 40cm but if I was to do something else;
Giant contact SLR aero ( great shape but heavy 240g) hidden cables cool but fiddly go etap.
FSA K force compact ( ovalish tops 40cm at hoods 42 flair) circa 200g
Zipp SC SL80 nice shape...weighty 250g but alloy strong
Zipp Contour sub 180g nice shape but the 85mm reach affect handling for some

But watch out with the Giant bars, not many lights will fit on those bars. I have those bars on my Giant TCR Advanced SL1. I haven't done the hidden cables bit yet, as it means redoing the shift cables and brake cables (extra bother when they don't need doing yet).flex5150 wrote:Dimii - Wilson cant be the Tacker he just got back from his carpet shop in HK. piss take.. I recogised hie bike whilst I was doing the boring boule roll,.

Extreme bars would be Selcof:

Those are looking great (I've seen them on a bike) but very heavy. Do those really improve the aero as much as they hurt the weight?
And for practical purposes, most lights will not work on those.
I'd agree on alloy bars.

Newbie here, just starting out on my cycling journey. Picked up this BMC SLC01 with Campy record and super record components. It's in immaculate condition and is very nice to ride. Got it out for its first spin yesterday arvo. Feels like a motorbike compared to my old mountain bike.

Did you have a massive smile on your face like I did when I first hopped on a road bike after only ever having ridden around on mountain bikes?

New BMC rider here, with a 2019 RoadMachine 02 Three I picked up last weekend. Decided to upgrade my Giant after getting a decent tax return for a change!
I rode a few bikes and this was the most comfortable and put the biggest grin on my face!
Here she is at South Perth on her maiden ride on Sunday.

Love it! so silky smooth, left hand/right hand changes did take a little bit to get used to, ie have to think for that extra split second.Mububban wrote:

Came off 2012 SRAM Red which i really liked, and ive had Di2 before so wasnt totally brand new to feeling of electronic
Have also had the 404s on a previous set up, feel pretty good on Perths flat river loops!

Came from an aluminium Defy, difference is night and day in terms of comfort.Mububban wrote:Were you coming from a TCR? How different do they feel?Rorschach wrote:Hey guys!

Love the red.
I've flipped the (8 degree 110mm) stem over as I was getting a bit of pain from reaching, but it feels too high now so reckon I'll lose 20-30mm and put an 80mm, 6 degree stem on it.
Also swapped the saddle for the Specialized one I had on my old bike to suit my wide arse, that made quite a difference too.
Wasn't all that in love with the red when I was looking (prefer blue or black), but in person it looks awesome.
Overall, really happy
