2014 - New BNA Cycling Kit

Postby AUbicycles » Fri Apr 11, 2014 12:27 pm

There has been some renewed interest in BNA Cycling kit and in short, it is a numbers game. If I can get enough numbers I would be happy to start a new order.
My intention would be to retain the existing design but also will take feedback onboard if there is overwhelming interest to change - or for example, interest in only one jersey version (eg. blue).

I would also keep the same supplier and this also means that this is not a budget priced kit. But for clarity it will be priced at a 'cut-even' so you are also not paying a premium. The kit is really good quality and lasts well - so a worthwhile investment. The only thing is to take care choosing the sizes and before getting to this I would gather feedback from others who have purchased to help everyone get the best suited size.

As a point of reference, a kit with jersey + bib knicks would be around $200.
The price isn't fixed however will give you some orientation.

Lets kick this off with a survey to judge the level of interest. If you are not interest, please take part as your feedback is also valuable.

Most comfortable kit I've owned. I'd buy a 2nd set for sure.

Don't forget to vote.

With the socks, I am considering whether I would do two pairs for a kit. It became a little difficult last time with the min. volume order requirements. My socks are going really well and I only wear them riding so havn't walked holes through them - so certainly interested in feedback whether that would make sense.

Personally I was interested in a winter style jacket however that it probably a bit much - unless everyone was keen on certain accessories.

I'd go for long-sleeved jersey option - though guess that would mean more design work.

I'd go for a gillet over a jacket, though a plain-ish black generic one looks fine; same applies to gloves I guess. A cap that really 'meshes' with the kit design would be nice though...

I didn't last time as I wasn't in a position to buy. This time all is good so I would buy a jersey, Knicks and socks.

Gonna have to say no, my original Strada is still going strong.

Would grab a black jersey, knicks and some socks. What brand kit is this? Tineli iirc?

Yes, it will be Tineli again. Everyone has been really happy with the kit.

Would also look into a jacket. I really like my Ground Effect jacket (which is coincidently also in BNA blue) however it is not branded.

Example: Winter Jacket

But, if the trend is a vest and reliance on armwarmers - lets discuss.

I just don't think the design does much for visibility. I don't mean going canary yellow, but some thing with a splash of colour to be seen.

My blue Strada seems to stand out like the proverbials in daylight, anecdotal I know but I get less of those stop, start, stop things you often get from side streets.

I'd do the blue jersey myself, but would go black if there was no choice.
Presumably the survey is not visible on tapatalk, so I'll check that later.

How is the sizing? I find that sometimes a Large race cut fits me nicely but is too short, but an XL is too baggy but has the length.

We had both the blue and the black version made in the first round. I wear the blue out on the road usually - especially for early morning starts just to maximise visibility.
The black - Corsa (Race) is, in my own view, a hot looking kit, quite minimal and stylish. I mostly have worn in competing or MTBing or riding with great visibility.

For visibility yellow and splashed of red would be better however it is not the identity of BNA and I visibility and safety is a key concern - I would recommend some of the fluero garments. However a touch of class and great addition is the reflective piping on the rear of jersey (H patter - left righ seams and across the top of the pocket).

The jersey and knicks also have the flatloc stitching - very comfortable.

Lets see how we go with numbers.

There wasn't a survey question on whether colour was of no concern.
I said blue as a preference, but I'd still go black...or doesn't it matter as far as numbers go?

Strada Jersey in XL (didn't buy last time, sizing based on current Jersey sizes)

Socks = Yes

Jacket = Yes (for the 5 days in Perth's winter I would need it :p)

I'd be in for a black kit, easier to keep clean on the mtb. Vest over jacket too.

Likewise - voted on the black kit, but if the Blue kit has more interest, I am happy with either (if the numbers arent supportive of ordering both colours).
I'd also likely be interested in a pair of socks and a gillet style vest (over a full jacket), if it becomes an option.

I'd be very happy to buy a blue jersey if there is a womens small (size 8 ) or men XS.

There are low ordernumber but to get a better price we will have to stock up on numbers. BNA forum promotion will help a bit of course.
