IT'S CHRISTMAS DAY
Where are you all? You can't tell me I'm the only nerd to visit here today (yes sogood, I saw you on earlier )
Come on, let's hear the brags.
I got a new wallet
I've got a box of cycling dvds coming in from the US (okay, it's a present from me to me but it still counts)
Must be Christmas, the kids are fighting
How's that OCR3 going Matt?
Just a relaxing one, may go for a short ride later, otherwise recuperating from the big ride in the rain yesterday and the dinner party last night.
I wonder if bike shops are also into Boxing day sales?
Bianchi, Ridley, Montague, GT, Garmin and All things Apple
I just made it back from lunch with my two youngest kids.
If you measure Christmas's on the whisky scale, mine measured 5.5 (I don't care, even Chivas only gets a half compared to single malts).
I got another bike frame (that makes way too many hartdtail mtbs that I have to put together) and some books on sports nutrition.
Now it's time to call my Mum, have some left over atlantic salmon for dinner (with a big glass of pinot) then off to bed - because the recovery ride starts at 8:00am tomorrow!
Best Wishes everyone, I hope that your Christmas's were the best that they could be.
It's probably the Scotch that brings out the Irish in me, so "May the road rise up to meet you, may the wind be ever at your back. May the sun shine warm upon your face and the rain fall softly on your fields. And until we meet again, May God hold you in the hollow of his hand.â€
Well my Polish heritage means that after lunch we had our usual glass of champagne and then 6 shots of vodka and to top that off, three bottles of beer. My whole day now comprises of me waking up for christmas lunch, drinking and going straight to bed after christmas lunch. haha.
It's now only 8:30pm and I've woken up again but I still feel somewhat drunk . I still have a huge boxing day party tomorrow that I'm supposed to go to but I'm hoping I won't be hungover so that I can have a big one and get hungover the next day.
All I keep thinking about now though is how much riding I'm going to have to do to correct everything after christmas hahaha... can't wait
Merry Christmas all!
Lunch at Mums, then back home to recover. It's been freezing cold and spitting down most of the day in Melbourne, very conducive to taking it easy. (The four helpings of pudding and dads old Glenfiddich were incidental.) Hope it's nice tomorrow, the GLW's at work so I'd like to take the kids out.
Went out and did a 52 km training ride, the roads were almost empty, but the strong south westerly wind made sure I got some real training benefit.
Anybody else either so dedicated or stupid to ride Christmas day?
On christmas eve while it was raining, my brother and I left at 7:45pm. we were going to do a 40km ride but had to settle for 26km because my brother crashed in the wet and broke his rear red light. I managed to keep it on with the elastic band that was holding my spare tube.
