Ex tapatalk users - your tips and tricks.
Postby ianganderton » Mon Apr 11, 2016 8:17 am
What are you using to fill in the holes left by 'timeline' and easy image posting
On my iPhone I have saved a book mark on my home page to 'new posts'. It's similar but not quite the same as time line
As well as time line I used participated and subscribed a lot. 'My posts' is obviously the same as participated but I can't find anything to view subscribed yet despite being able to easily find the option to subscribe to a thread
What solutions do folks have for posting images? This is going to be a major pain in the arse for everyone
I wonder what percentage of the total active users are doing so from mobile devices. I very rarely view any forums from a desktop

Just looking at the imgur app. Is there a way to copy the bb code and select an image size to post?m@ wrote:For images, I just use imgur. It's an extra step, but doesn't take long.
I can only see a copy link option. This could make for very big pictures
Does the new design deal ok with big hi res images?

I'm just trying to see if I can post from my one drive account. According to support pages I found through Google I can
I've copied the link from the auto uploaded image in the app. Then pasted it into the post. Selected the link then scrolled up to the image button and added the code.
Problem is there doesn't seem to be a way I can add text after the image. When I try to put the cursor after the link and code it selects the img] and tries to spell correct it. I can't find away to not do that. VERY ANNOYING
Here is a screen dump of the problem

Test image hopefully will display below

I can't see what all the bellyaching is about.ianganderton wrote:This posting images malarkey is a ball ache
Image hosting was only added recently to Tapatalk. Linking to other image hosting sites is not a big deal - most of us have had plenty of practice.
There is a thread devoted to the subject. How to post images
Most images I post are not on my mobile device anyway, so nothing is different.

Recently in the wheel building thread etc all the images I've posted have been from my iPhoneRonK wrote:ianganderton wrote:

The problem with a mobile device is that there is very little available to see compared with a desk top view. This causes a number of issues
When using a desk top typically the whole edit window is available to see including the various buttons. On a mobile device none of this is available
As you'll hopefully be able to see from the screen shot in this link https://onedrive.live.com/redir?resid=5 ... hoto%2cpng
Scrolling up is also very awkward as the text window scrolls instead of the screen.
What I'm trying to establish is the best way to solve the problem that I'm now confronted with. Tapatalk had a very very neat solution for mobile users. According to stats 30% of people now use their mobile device as their primary form of Internet access.

I've looked at imgur both the mobile site and the app and I can't find the link to the actual image needed to post pictures.m@ wrote:For images, I just use imgur. It's an extra step, but doesn't take long.
Are you using it on iOS and if so where do you get the link from

Ok. Got it at last. That's much better.m@ wrote:On the mobile site at least, imgur has preformatted bbcode that you can just copy and paste directly - no right-clicking or [ ] required!

The imgur mobile site is a good solution. Thanks

Hi there Ianganderton,
Thank you for writing in and confirming my want as well. This is amongst the things that are on the road map for adding to the applications.
I do apologize for this inconvenience. I hope to see this addition soon.
I look forward to seeing you further within the community.
Best,
Isaac K.

I couldn't access these forums on Tapatalk a few days ago. I figured it was a temporary issue and have been checking regularly for a return. Sounds like their won't be. Why was access from Tapatalk severed?
