The 2014 base model is $899 and the 2013 Comp variation is reduced from $1199 to $999. Should I spend the extra $100 on the Comp? I'm not familiar with MTB components and what's good and what's not, so would appreciate some assistance here.
BTW, I'm not going to be a serious MTBer. Just the odd trial ride. At most, I might end up going on slightly technical tracks but nothing severe. And admittedly, its probably going to see more recreational bike path usage (i.e. riding with the kids) than say a dirt road! But I wanted the Rockhopper for future proofing! And I wanted a Specialized to match my Venge
