Well I am in the perfect position to provide a direct comparison between the two. All the parts (bar the stem) on the sworks have come off my TCR Advanced SL.
I've only had the one ride and yes it does climb very well but at 90kg descending is more my thing.
Without being used to the bike, I felt very comfortable on one of my regular descents that contains very fast flowing corners as well as some tighter hairpins.
New bike syndrome aside, I think I am going to be very happy for the next year or two.

After buying and reading the latest issue of Bike magazine, I too will soon be a new member of the Specialized Club.
I couldn't help but like the 2014 Allez Limited so i ordered one and should get it early March, can't wait. I believe there were only 25 or so allocated to Australia and I'm pretty sure I got the second last. Talk about an impulse buy!! Oh well, we only live once.
Will post a pic when I pick it up.
Regards

I have had my eye on the 2013 S-Works Allez for quite some time.
Personally I believe the 2013 model is better looking & better specced than the 2014 one.

Well I have had my 2014 S-Works Allez for a few weeks now and i'm absolutely wrapped. Very very comfortable and very responsive.
Had a rattle coming from the brake cable inside the top tube but my local BS fixed that. It was an impulsive buy that I am more than happy with. Looks great and has drawn a bit of attention on the weekend rides.
I was a little unsure to be honest as to how the Ally frame would go but I have to say it is very good. Works well with the Carbon front end and Roval CX 40's. Weighs in at 6.9kg.
Will post a pic when I work out how.

Well strangely enough, i also took the plunge this morning and bought one of the end of model year S Works Tarmac frames in the OPQ colours. Now i have mech Ultegra on one of my Roubaix's and DA on the other and am torn over which will go on the new frame. Its been narrowed down to Ultegra Di2 and Mech DA. DA Di2 is just that bit far out of reach from a $$ point of view, but i certainly do not want to cheapen a top line frame. Not fussed by Sram or Campy, as i have gotten used to Shimano and all things would then be interchangeable.
I have 2 sets of TWE wheels, similar to those above on the red Tarmac and might just sling a set of those in to start with and see how i go.
