Specialized Frame Warranty
Postby chocwege » Mon Jun 16, 2014 2:25 pm
Just thought I would give a shout-out to Specialized and Wembley Cycles for looking after me so well. After a wet ride a few weeks ago I was cleaning my 4 year old bike (Roubaix SL2) and noticed a hairline crack where the front derailleur is fixed to the frame. Within 2 weeks I have had the frame replaced under warranty with an S-Works SL3. I fitted a new Ultegra Di2 groupset and effectively have a new bike for $1700 ! I was looking at getting a new bike so the timing couldn't have been better.

I had a mate have a similar experience (except his bike was only about 6 months old). Found a crack while cleaning it and had a new frame within the week.

I know several people who have had good experiences with the Specialized warranties. A colleague of mine has a client who has replaced a Specialized frame under warranty 4 times. It's great to have good warranty response, but I'd ask myself why they are breaking so much in the first place.

I have 3 Specialized road bikes, one has done about 50,000km and no problems with them. Maybe the rider is very heavy and/or treats the bike roughly?
