Specialized Turbo S ok for Strava KOM's?
Postby durianrider » Tue Sep 09, 2014 10:14 pm
I got a few popular KOM's on my new bike and some people got angry?
I made a video about it.

Would possibly be a tool for someone wanting to get fit because all of a sudden they could ride with a fast group perhaps?

No bunch in the hills is fast enough for this bike so if you were not fit enough to keep up with Chris Froome, on the Turbo you would have him full gas trying to keep up with you whilst your talking and wearing trackie pants with sneakers.
Its been a lot of fun before sunrise here on the local climb where its to dark to see its a Turbo.

Presumably they could dial-back the assistance?durianrider wrote:Takes about 3.5 hours to charge.

It's about as legal too. Would certainly exceed the 250W max output specified in the regs. Not that I have a problem with that...harmonix1234 wrote:I'll see your turbo, and raise you a gumtree petrol powered 'lost me effing license' bogan commuter. Lets race!

well said. why would you buy a bike like this apart from commuting a limited distance?ldrcycles wrote:Not falling for the clickbait. note also Durian Rider is a weasel by character, and weight.
therefore, any mileage he gets could be halved for most of the population.
the guy seems like an unstable creep. I watched a few of his videos and he always seems to be going out at night to pig out on Chinese food.
Why can't he stay home and eat home cooked meals?

supposed to be good for 80Km/h / 4.5K watt, every bogan should have one - I occasionally see somebody on one, keeping up with the traffic on Mt Alexander Rd Ascot Vale

These sort of bikes make a perfect training partner / motor pacer. As an alternative for ~$2500 delivered my uncle (who used to be a keen cyclist back in the day but now with a few injuries) bought one of these http://www.zocoelectricbike.com.au/prod ... tric-bike/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; so I no longer have to hold back when we ride together. Its a mid drive / crank based setup. He's added a lot of personal touches / additional 13ah pack (total 23ah) / taller gearing. With my 77kg aboard sitting up right it'll hold 37km/hr with 0 pedal input (average both directions).
