Crank spider lockring removal tool

Postby MichaelB » Wed Jun 24, 2015 4:09 pm

I have a need for one of these little puppies for some cranks that I'll be using.

There are some sources that they can be purchased from - fleabay for ~ $80, shapeways for ~ $75, Strada wheel in UK for GBP70 + shipping  or you can visit the local specialized store, cross your fingers that they have the $500 kit that only dealers can buy and then get charged $30 or so.

Personally, I'd love to have my own, but due to the cost, I probably won't.

So just asking if anyone has one that they don't want (sell it), or have one that I can borrow (compensation offered), or just feel plain generous and give it to me :P

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Cheers

Have done some googling, and although a Park Tools BBT-18 should fit (teeth wise), the ID is such that it won't fit over the axle. May look at doing a bit of machining on one to accommodate, as they are about $25 ea. This may be the 2nd last resort .....
