S-Works Tarmac first road bike

Now that i have your attention let me qualify the above statement a little.

I am returning to riding after 5 years out of the saddle. Before that i rode for many years including road, mountain and bmx so im not completely useless on a bike.

I have been riding a hybrid for the past few months but now i want to step it up. My plan was to go for an endurance road bike but for an extra 20% above my original budget i have access to a mint condition 2014 S-Works Tarmac with full durace.

So do people think this will be too much bike for me to handle? Should i stick to my plan of getting something more compliant? Or should i just go straight for my dream bike and fake it till i make it?

I might be biased owning 3 Tarmacs but I say go for it!

If you have the coin to do it, i'd say go for it.
You will be more inclined to ride such a thing of beauty.

S-Works Tarmac with Dura Ace? Nice! Go for it, I'm sure it'll be a superb machine. I've got a couple of Giants with Dura Ace 9000, those are featherweight machines and equally superb.

Dura Ace is really nice. As for too much of a bike to handle, just get it fitted properly and all will be good. If you were in Sydney, would recommend either The Body Mechanic or PaveTheWay (http://pavetheway.cc/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;).

Depends what type of motor it has in it.

Always buy one up to what you think. That way you'll always be happy and not have buyers remorse (well at least 6 months in)

So go for the one you want !!
