Distinguishing ultegra RD-6700A from RD-6700
Postby longshot » Sun Jan 05, 2014 5:55 pm
Wondering how to tell the difference between the RD-6700A and RD-6700 - can't find any photos/diagrams on the interwebs showing the 6700A part number on the body, just 6700 (but have only found a couple of photos of the back of the derailleur). Want to pair with a 12-30 tooth cassette, which the A model is rated for (even if a non-A may handle it).

The cage has '30T' written on it.

Age. A-spec was introduced mid-2012 for 2013 model year. Any earlier is the original version. The two are not produced concurrently.
I had a thought, but it got run over as it crossed my mind.

Can see (only just though) the '30T' on the cage on Chain Reaction's RD-6700 webpage - they have a 360 degree viewing thingie

I have the older 6700 and it works fine with the 12-30 tooth cassette.
