No problems using the newer BB. Same as a BB7800 except a modified profile of the outboard cups.

Yep, OUTSIDE diameter is smaller, but internal diameter and overall width are unchanged, so fully compatible with all road, two-piece (AKA Hollowtech II, but technically this really only applies to Dura-Ace, Ultegra and 105) cranks.
I had a thought, but it got run over as it crossed my mind.
