Alfine 8 Speed Hub - getting all the bits!

Postby Timeonabike » Tue Jun 28, 2016 8:07 pm

G'day,

Has anyone out there gotten an Alfine 8 Speed Hub plus managed to get all the parts required to make it work first time?

I am having trouble getting a definitive bill of materials to go shopping with, as it appears most places online sell just the hub - then you need to order a sprocket, some special washers, a torque arm etc. etc.

Any ideas?

Cheers,

Time

Hmmm, let me think.

Hub (naturally)
cassette joint (the shifter thing)
anti-rotation washers suitable for your dropout angle.
Shifter
Shifter cable
three-spline sprocket
single speed chain to suit sprocket width
plus a chain tensioner if you have vertical dropouts

Cheers!

I've ordered a bunch of bits now, so looking forward to putting it altogether.

Can you convert an Alfine 8 to quick release?
