Hey guys
Looking to get a mechanical Record Groupset. Saw some on sale for around $1890. Good price or would it be worth waiting for the 2015 models? Not sure when it would start appearing in stores.
Quite a fair bit of changes to the cranks, shifters, RD, FD but as usual might have minimal performance difference. I would also expect them to be more expensive since they are new.
Any thoughts?
2014 Groupset or 2015

I know the new cranks have been coppingplenty of criticism about how "ugly" they are.
I think $1890 is pretty good for record, even if it will soon be the "old" one.
Are there any reviews out yet?

saw this pic on velonews.
I dont fancy the cranks too much myself but everything else looks great. Still waiting for review.
Dont mind 'old' groupsets, I'm still using 2001 record groupset in one of my bike.

If I remember right, the article about the new Campag groupsets that I read said that the cable pull and shift ratios were changing. It means that you won't be able to mix and match - you will either need a complete groupset from before or a complete groupset from after the change.
It sounds like a pain for us devoted Campag users who are on a budget!

Although I'm not completely sold on the aesthetics of new crank design. I like the flexibility of being able to change chainrings for compact if desired. But if i could get the 2014 SR set for a decent discount i'd probably just live with it.

The cranks do look a bit.... odd, but the new derailleurs don't look like shoe boxes, which is an improvement.
I had a thought, but it got run over as it crossed my mind.
