Campy freehub on Shimano wheel
Postby PhilMailloux » Thu Jul 03, 2014 2:59 pm
Anyone knows if I can pull out a Campagnolo freehub from one of my wheels and install it on my other 10sp shimano wheelset or am I stuck having to buy a completely new rear wheel hub or rear wheel...

Won't happen. The hub designs are completely different.
I had a thought, but it got run over as it crossed my mind.

*assuming the wheels (hubs) are different brands.
If they were the same brand (eg fulcrum) it can be done.

I read the OP to mean a Shimano-branded wheelset, which is definitely incompatible (Shimano are about the only major wheel/hub manufacturer that does not offer a Campag-type freewheel option. Pretty much everyone else offers both types, even Campag).

Yeah, I was reading it as two random wheels and wanting to swap freewheels, just trying to point out that within brands you can usually change.
I know your tech advice is always on the money duck
Just trying to ad a little bit.

Well I've got a rear (shimano compatible) Bontrager XXX wheel with Bontrager Hub. My question is really if I'd be able to stick a Campagnolo freewheel on that hub so I can use my Campy cassette and use on it on my Campy bike
