How they position and lay out the carbon fibre.
For example, a super stiff bike will be layed up with carbon fibre going in different positions etc over the head tube, bottom bracket, etc to achieve extra rigidity.
This obviously costs more for the extra material used & extra time involved and adds weight to the over all product.

Lay up is the term for how the different kinds of carbon sheets are placed around the mould...because of the different angles of the weave it creates different stresses and means the frame is stiff one way and flexes in others...

did my first climb with it today. was worried about going from a compact on my flat bar to the standard. it was nowhere as difficult as I thought and was probably actually easier. was not an effort today. just confirming I can do it.
when I do put the power down on the bike, it just goes.
