Colnago Cristallo, I believe the colour scheme code is ETWIN - anybody have any ideas what city the graphic is depicting ?

It's New York City. Known elsewhere as the New York limited paint scheme.

My wife had one - it's not actually any particular city...

OK, I stand corrected, I've seen only offering for sale claiming it's NYC airbrush paint schemeRonK wrote:My wife had one - it's not actually any particular city...

It's a shame Colnago are not offering as many custom paint jobs on stock frames anymore.

I have heard it called New York, but when you have one in the house it becomes a matter if interest to find out, as Seddo has done.open roader wrote:OK, I stand corrected, I've seen only offering for sale claiming it's NYC airbrush paint schemeRonK wrote:My wife had one - it's not actually any particular city...

Although the city does look like New York, none of the buildings can be recognized or matched with the real NY skyline.
It certainly is a lovely design, and the Crystallo is a great bike, but my wife is a bike snob and wanted an upgrade to a C50.
But everywhere she went with the Crystallo it attracted attention - much more than her "plain" C50.

I dunno the code, but it's the Italia version, black and white with tricolore flashes.open roader wrote:Out of curiousity and as a fellow C50 rider, what paint code is your wife's C50 ?RonK wrote: the Crystallo it attracted attention - much more than her "plain" C50.

The paint code is ETWN. Town. Jet. Sunflowers. I have heard the code called city, skyline etc. I don't know what it is really called though. I don't think it is a real city, it is not NY.
My Cristallo is STBL. I was going to get it custom painted, but the company that did the molding in Italy went broke and so Colango only had already produced stock to buy from.

Thanks ft_critical
I did not know the jet was part of that scheme, I have a C-50 in that colour scheme. I would love to get hold of a sunflower themed frame

Very nice. I think you got the black seat and blue tape right. I put white and white on mine and am only now moving back to black. It looks much better.seddo wrote:Thanks ft_critical

The jet was carried forward from 06/07 to 08 from memory but the code was changed to PT08. So the paint might be slightly different.
There is a really cool YouTube video on painting up Extremes in the Italian factory. Your frame was very much individually painted. Google it, it is really cool. And the EPS they have on there is in a great paint scheme too.
