Giant Anyroad 2013

Looks like we'll be getting the Giant Anyroad this year which appears to be a drop bar cross road tourer commuter with mechanical disc brakes and an alloy frame & carbon fork...but no rack mounts. Comes with 700x32 tyres.

Taiwan gets three specs (2, 1 and 0) which runs from Sora to 105. Top spec 0 is roughly equivalent to AU$1,250 and this is the spec I suggest we'll see. I'd reckon they'll pop up at various cross events in the months to come

Here's a pic of the basic spec 2 with Sora driveline

Want!!!

... oh wait. Not any more.

I'm looking to upgrade my commuter to a CX style bike. Disc brakes are a must (I'll probably go hydraulic by the time i get around to it), but it's gotta be able to carry some gear and my daughters baby seat. There's some nice looking ones out there and this one looks great. Lack of mounts is a major PITA.

Quick Q. What's that weird little thing hanging off the handle bars just near the stem? Reflector? Werido garmin mount?

It has cross levers, but that pic looks a little stranger than those...

Ahh, thanks. Of course. My wife's giant avail has them. Agree on looking a little weird in the photo though.

I really do like the curve of the top tube/seat stay on that frame. Probably a very derivative design, but still like it.

That is one ugly beast. Looks like something created from a bunch of spare mtb frames. Yuck.

Pass on the FSA crankset, but otherwise looks good. Pity about the lack of rack mounts. :(

Yeah, the lack of rack mounts (and probably mudguard mounts) changes it from an appealing allrounder to a plaything.

I would rather have the new Specialized AWOL. Steel frame and fork. Rack and mudguard mounts and disc brakes.

Yes that is a nice bike. Or the new Surly. I bought my Merida in 2011 because it had rack mounts, and I still haven't fitted a rack :D

Which new Surly do you speak of? Or do you mean the new Salsa?

I think he's talking about Surly's new gravel grinder the "Straggler"

OK thanks. Since I already have a CC with a disc, I probably won't be needing one of those. :)
Bad photo, taken today.

Maybe the Revolt http://www.giant-bicycles.com/en-au/bik ... 904/66424/ would be better.
I believe it has rack mount points.

You could put ZĂ©fal muddies on it. It's a got a rear eyelet, but you'd need one of those forkhole fastening fellows on the front.
