Usually 36/46 or similar up front, anything from 11-25 up to 11-28. This is rule of thumb though, some bike will come with a bigger casette at the back (up to 32) and/or compact cranks (34/50).

I'f you're worried about gearing, just buy 10 speed sram and stick a massive cassette at the back. My last frankenbuild ran 36 at the back with sram apex. Clutched RD is a bonus too.

Depends on what bike you are looking at.

My not quite CX bike (Specialized Tricross) came with 50/34, 11-30 cassette, but its fairly common to see 46/36 at the front.

I've taken my tricross touring, changing to a MTB rear derailleur to fit a 36 tooth rear cog, but that is overkill for normal riding.

Mine is 46/38 with 12-32 at the back. SRAM Apex with BB7 Discs

Sunday was a perfect example of why a cyclocross bike... 130km road ride in the morning... Change wheels and hitting the trails in the afternoon
