Few years old, but it's going to get resurrected into touring again. Got another additional bag I use on the back now as well. An Ortlieb rack pack (m) in yellow.

Only thing I have changed since then are the tyres and mudguards. Oh and bartape. Now has Schwalbe Marathon Extreme's, Honjo Koken Le Peons and Brooks leather tape. I really rate all three, they are some of the best bike purchases I have made.
I don't have any with the tape but have these ones of the guards. I have taken the racks off once on a tweed ride and it looks so sweet. But day to day it has the rear rack with a $35 bigW basket/bag and no front rack.

@exadios I too love your trike and it's set-up using plastic bins for panniers is brilliant along with those grey tidy bins for easy access to things nice job so simple and I bet the cost was very little which I also like.

Re: His & hers Touring Bikes for Tour of the Murray

Below is a photo of our touring bikes during a short train trip from Adelaide to the southern suburb of Noarlunga in early October. From Noarlunga we rode via Wilunga Hill to Normanville and on to Victor Harbor and Goolwa, then followed the Murray River to Renmark. From there we caught a Greyhound bus to Mildura and, a few days later, to Robinvale - these bus trips were to avoid the many trucks on some long sections of busy Sturt Highway. We then rode via Manangatang to Swan Hill, after which we rented a SUV to get back to Canberra in early November. Mine is a Surly 'Long Haul Trucker' and Toni's is a Thorn 'Sherpa'. Both have custom component builds.

Swapped my derailleurs and v-brakes onto my girlfriends bike...disc brakes seem ok but I really like the Rohloff Speedhub...

Great to see you managed to get your dream wheels.
I've found my Rohloff to be an acquired taste but am now better able to enjoy it.
I found not the weight an issue like so many but more the noisy racket in the gears over seven when coasting.
The more I ride it, the less I notice it.
Not because its getting quieter but just my ears adjusting I think.
I see you've your trailer nuts on.
Any issue with the axle moving under braking when the trailers on?

Yeah I like the Rohloff too...no issues with the trailer yet, the quick release lever doesn't have the greatest leverage so you have to really clamp it down.
