I like the excellent but pricey Pitlock skewers but these look good as well.

Thanks for that link, I've pledged as well.

Was looking for something like this. The pitlock skewers where to pricey for me.

I have them on my Surly Long Haul Trucker but these will do for the other two bikes to protect my dynamo hubs.

Atomic22 achieve a similar locking security to Pitlocks (which I have), but at an even more exhorbitant price :o

I remain happy with the ~ $50 Pitlock set. Available in a whole heap of different options and combinations.

First thing I think of when seeing a padlock is... It is going to get gunk in the keyway?

OK for a bike not ridden in the rain, but maybe not for an all weather commuter.

Facing backwards and horizontal is probably about the safest place but still makes me twitch. I've had to put boltcutters through padlocks on towbar hitches after all.

I think that would be useful for those with QR seatpost clamps if it is small enough to not get in the way.

These wont last long ...from Aussie Disposals. Unlimited possibilities.
Also handy to make room in group rides.

The diameters are hard to ascertain members may have to fabricate mounts.

Potentially increase charge speed with USB dynamo devices?

I now have one ex Japan. Very solid feel to it, charging my phone as I type. Seems to be quick with the charging. I got it from ebay seller, tokyofreaks23 for US$62.00.

Hi Andrew - any recent thoughts on this product? Looking for a cache battery for a dynamo charger. Cheers.

Not really other than it works at home. I have yet to use it on the road.

A similar battery with a really robust case, is the NewTrent PowerPak Ultra 14000 mAh battery. Two ouputs 1A & 2.1A, and 2A input. It has a waterproof, shockproof, and dustproof case.

Thanks il padrone, the hardened case seems like a good idea for onbike usage. If it supports simultaneous charge in while using charge out it could be perfect.

It will do that apparently. The only reservation that I have about it is the micro-USB charging port. On a previous cheapie battery this broke off on me when charging it from the bike with the battery in the handlebar bag - I'm guessing that movement stressed it and busted it. The one advantage of the Powermonkey Extreme is its full-size USP charging port - never looks like coming out or breaking.

I will try to mainly to charge the NewTent from mains, or from solar panel on rest days - it's big enough to last quite a few days of use between recharges.

368g by my conversion. Seems comparable with the Powermonkey Extreme battery that weighs 242g, seeing as it is 50% greater capacity.

Amazon won't deliver to Aus for me and I'm not sure I can trust Aliexpress.

Yes, I found that too... and every other site I could find was US with their similar US-only trade.

I ended up buying it from dstore.com.au for a good bit more $$$ (but still a lot cheaper than you'd find a Powermoney Extreme in Aus) - $148 incl. shipping :|

Place Pete said

There were a few ebayer stores willing to do it but I went with dstore because they were only about 10 clams more than ebay.
