Re: I thought you guys might like this. What ? fat lady with a trolley ? Or the orange juice ?
Re: I thought you guys might like this.
You can't call her fat. High BMI, plus size, big boned, etc. would be polite.
Re: I thought you guys might like this.
It's not a saddle, its a set of blacksmiths bellows ! Bit like the car from Mary poppins !
Re: I thought you guys might like this.Hmmmmmm I think that might be a Pederson.
Very eye catching. Well spotted http://www.pedersenbicycles.com/ Moulton Landrover APB
Re: I thought you guys might like this.
You cant refer to her rear as a saddle....... Oh you mean the bike Moulton Landrover APB

Generous proportions. A large frame. Just a touch pear-shaped Riding bikes in traffic - what seems dangerous is usually safe; what seems safe is often more dangerous.
Re: I thought you guys might like this. Now thats a bike whose owner knows his kit.
That appears to be Tubus racks, Magura hydraulic rim brakes and Rohloff if my eyes dont deceive me. Certainly candy for my eyes. I've only ever seen one before and that was in the UK many years ago. Love to have one of those in my stable. Course I'd need a stable first. Moulton Landrover APB
Re: I thought you guys might like this.Yep, with Schmidt dynohub, B&M Toplight tail-light (can't see the headlight), Hebie Chainglider, and Ergon grips. Exceptionally well set up. This bike belongs to a visiting European tourist, probably Dutch, I reckon.

Re: I thought you guys might like this.Well I'm going to say it even if nobody else does;
Bloody hell that's ugly! (THE BIKE!).
Re: I thought you guys might like this.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder me thinks. I'll add Puffy that it might pay to remember that not everyone is thick skinned and a remark like that can cause great offense to an owner even if it wasn't intended. Its likely that a design like that is artistically inspired where form and function are both important especially back when it was originally designed. Knowledge about the bikes design/history might help with your view; there is a link to the current manufacturer in an above post. Nothing wrong with something being "not you" but yelling it from the rooftops is a little less than sensitive, especially if you not sure who else here might own one. After all, despite some of us expressing interest in the bike, a loud dissenting view isn't going to bring anyone forwards me thinks. The fact that its not run o' the mill is something that adds to the enjoyment of its ownership rather than a detraction. Moulton Landrover APB
Re: I thought you guys might like this.Have we really got to the stage where we have be sensitive about a picture of a bike?
Fair dinkum
Re: I thought you guys might like this.
No one said you had to be anything Sparx, merely pointed out that not everyone would appreciate open critique of their pride and joy due to not being thick skinned. Dont want anyone feeling unwelcome just because their rides a little different or do we? Would you feel great if a bunch of people whose group you wanted to join and feel part of, started casting dispersions on your choice of wheels or taste in general? Or perhaps I've just gotten out of bed on the wrong side this morning and cant see the wood for the trees - Its been known to happen occasionally Moulton Landrover APB

Rif' steady on. She is only a stablehand's daughter ... and all the horsemen knew her. Warren. "But on steep descending...Larson TT have bad effect on the mind of a rider" - MadRider from Suji, Korea 2001.
"Paved roads ... another fine example of wasteful government spending." - a bumper sticker.
Re: I thought you guys might like this.
I'll have to rein it in before I get told to hoof it I guess. But if anyone asks "Why the long face.......?" And as for the neigh sayers........ Too long in between hayrolling I'm guessing Moulton Landrover APB
Re: I thought you guys might like this.Yes, it a very nice bike rack. Thanks for posting.
Re: I thought you guys might like this.Pretty green. Does it come in other colors?
Re: I thought you guys might like this.
No you misread that Sparx. You should be sensitive about what you say (and how). This is a pretty standard part of social interaction Riding bikes in traffic - what seems dangerous is usually safe; what seems safe is often more dangerous.
Re: I thought you guys might like this.I didn't misread anything.
There was a post that we shouldn't offer our opinion about a picture of a bike in a shopping centre as we might offend the owner. I found this to be, frankly, ridiculous. There is an entire thread devoted to pictures of ugly bikes - should we stop that because someone might be offended? But I thank you for your lesson in social interaction, I didn't find it condescending in the least.
Re: I thought you guys might like this.haha, good old sarcasm !
as per pic, I'd ride it ! The bike too !
Re: I thought you guys might like this.[
You wish to be frank? Ok Frank. Look Frank, heres the deal, calling others opinions ridiculous is kinda insulting. Frank it actually suggests a need for lessons in social interaction. Sorta in the same vein as calling other peoples choice of bike ugly. Its clumsy communication at best, demeaning at wost. If you never learnt to get on in the sandpit how bout trying a little harder round here. So far in the touring section I've not seen any comments of the type "your ugly and your mother dresses ya funny" and I think its sorta nice and would like to see it continue. By all means have a referendum if you think otherwise and if you see an obvious need to change the respectful way things seem to be done around here. Whilst I dont agree with having an Ugly Bike thread anywhere, we appear to have one as you so kindly point out. Are you suggesting we need another one? If you reread the original post you might discern that far from just being concerned with the owner of the bike in the pic per say, I was gently pointing out that this is a forum for cyclists of all persuasions and not just riders of typical diamond frames. I suspect the ethos of the forum is not to be disrespectful to other potential contributors to our pages by singling out the differences of their choice of ride but to bring them in under the umbrella of our common ground. You might think riders of Pedersons will have nothing to contribute to our "Touring" section but I doubt your in a majority. Moulton Landrover APB
Re: I thought you guys might like this.I'm telling my mum on you.
I did not say anything about how ugly or not the bike was, I'm more than happy for people to ride whatever they like. I also think people should be able to state an opinion, even if that is contrary to someone else's. This is on it's way to turning into a pointless internet argument which I suppose I started, so let's just agree to disagree. Back to that quirky marvel of engineering - the Pedersen. Some say it's frighteningly ugly. Some say it's mind bendingly beautiful. I say let both sides be heard!
Re: I thought you guys might like this.you know her name ? Where does Mrs Pedersen live ?
Re: I thought you guys might like this.Hi Mugglechops,
I like that bike,it looks really quaint, thanks for posting the pic.
