Do some research on the Dursley Pedersen. It is an excellent geometry - very strong design, but also a very comfortable bike to ride I believe. Not to my taste at all, but that is certainly not the only thing that determines whether a bicycle design is good or not.

As they say, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. To some extent also a bike that is functionally very effective for its intended use is also often regarded as a thing of beauty by someone who is likely to use it. If you really want the racing style then a Pedersen may even help you there:

Beauty is in the eye of the beer holder, sadly, I have none or that would actually be quite pleasing on the eye......

I took a dursley pederson for a test ride when I lived in London many years ago. Great to ride when the roads are flat. Not a bike for hills or speed but I'd love to have one if I had the spare coin.
