Catching the rain ... camping tips?

Eddie at the Nullabor and Beyond has a idea for modifying one's tent to use it as a rain catcher and it got me wondering about other camping tips that maybe can be shared ...

I can't help feeling that where you are most likely to need a source of water are the places with little rain..
