Glad to have the outside scoop - Kevin is a good guy to deal with & does nice work. Post some pics when you get it all fitted.

Got two types of mount on the way.

My preference is the two pronged version but Kevin was a little worried that the spacing might not be completely accurate as he doesn't have a dyno light to test it with. I measured mine with calipers and it was approx 10mm.

The second set it a single pronged version. This will be our backup plan.

Hey, is it possible to update the name of the thread? Want to make it Salsa Vaya Ti build thread.

If it is too loose you can shim it. Useful shim can be made out of aluminium beer cans, empty, cut to size and there you go.

Empty the first can and cut it up, back up cans should only be emptied after the first can is cutup.

Too tight and I'd file some away from the adaptor that keeps the light standard. Another possibility is the make a hacksaw cut between the two prongs so they can be separated a bit. Drill a clean hole where the hacksaw cut will end to provide some security against the cut propagating.

So, I think I finally have finalised my cockpit set up. :)

With the use of 2x K-Edge mounts and a custom GoPro to Dyno Light adaptor (from Kevin) I'm able to have my Garmin 820, Dyno Light and Cycliq Fly12 all mounted centrally.

Bike packing over the weekend was fun.

I'm using Alpkit and Apidura bags. My wifes Revelate kit is better IMHO.

Thanks for posting - I couldn't quite figure out how you were going to use the double end, but that looks nice. Pity its so expensive to do small batch anodizing.

Your attention to detail shows up throughout your build, its a sweet looking ride

Thanks for the kind words.

I'm actually surprised at how well it all turned out. Going custom always feels some what stressful.

I don't see these mounts listed on Kevin's page. Are they a special order?

IIRC Kevin uses cnc machines, so having made a part once he can re-produce it, even if it is not a "stock" item. He has however listed Dynamo light to GoPro adapters

I have ordered a Tanpan 11 speed adaptor - the instructions say to use a 1.1 mm shift cable. Seems a little weird that a SRAM cable specification is supposed to be used on a Shimano set up.

Does anyone know if there are any problems using a 1.2 mm cable? 0.1 mm difference isn't much.

No, but I use 1.1mm Sram stainless cables from the LBS on all my Shimano geared bikes (3).
The 1.1mm cable is cheaper than Shimano polymer and Teflon coated cables.
They're lasting considerably longer too. Especially on 11 speed shifters which seem to work harden and break cables quite rapidly.

I'm no fan of the polymer coated Shimano cables. Maybe I will take the opportunity to switch to Sram cables.

The bike industry is so silly with all the weird standards - I mean really, 1.1 mm and 1.2 mm cables! Sheesh!

Whilst I have a Mr Fusion on bikepacking bike, it is overkill for my audax ride. I was considering a Alpkit Koala or possibly an Apidura Saddle Pack so I am curious as to why you consider the Revelate kit better. I had a Revelate saddle bag on my short list but the price of the alternatives was swaying me.

The mechanism (holster) is fantastic at compressing the pack and keeping everything tight and in place. It is just a very easy to use system and is very sturdy on the bike (minimal sway). Also appreciate the narrower nose to prevent thigh rub.

Ahh okay so I am guessing we are talking a Revelate Designs Terrapin here? I can understand where you are coming from as my Mr Fusion also has that functionality. However for the audax bike I can live with something less sophisticated I think.

Viscacha owner owner and user here but I do get nervous about it being nicked. If you want a cheap no frills do it all for audax go the bajno brothers.

Have used one of these commuting for years and while it is now looking pretty rough they fit a lot of gear and if you lash it tight with a shock cord magic tie it sits snug and wont sway.
