Mid 90s Shamal/Vento Wheels

Postby matt1986 » Mon Jul 22, 2013 4:10 pm

Hi guys,

Latest build is a 1995 Bianchi ELOS - I've recently found an 8sp Chorus group on the cheap and am now looking to pick up some period correct wheels for it. Anyone have a pair of Shamals or Ventos in decent nick that they would be willing to part with?

Cheers,
Matt

There's one or two sets on eBay at the moment, although either im a tightwad or they have unrealistic price expectations

Or you can get some polished H+sons SL42s built up. However I don't believe they do low spokes counts in the polished rim, but that may have changed since I last ordered.

Cheers for the ideas guys, the eBay listings are indeed a bit to pricey for my liking, so that gumtree offering might be the go - thanks Munga!

Josh, the SL42s would look fantastic in a polished finish - I'll keep them in mind should I ever want to switch to a modern equivalent!

Yes, they are excellent. Superior to the original Campags (made by Gipiemme for them).

I have checked with H+Sons. Only available 32 and 36 in polished. Down to 20h in Black only.
