Kotavelo R30 Wheels

Postby AndrewCowley » Tue Jan 23, 2018 2:33 am

$200 for a 1700g wheelset running on what I think are decent hubs seems like good value. I'm looking to replace the worn out Fulcrum Racing 5's on my commute bicycle.

Anybody using these? I can't any reviews or much info out there.

I recall the Pro Lite Bracciano's from a few years back were highly regarded. Are these of the same lineage?

The previous importer for Pro-Lite who was also a regular forum member stopped importing that brand and created the new brand. It is still a young endeavour but trust it is fair to say that positioning of the brand is similar (i.e. value) and for past customers of Pro-Lite in Australia, they have the same contact partner.

A disclosure - Pro-Lite was a past advertiser on this site and Kotavelo has also advertised on BNA.

I had some Pro-lite Comos in the past and these look similar to them in build specification.

I would imagine they'd be solid and reliable wheelsets if they come from Deon and Kotavelo.

Good solid wheels from all accounts.

I'm waiting for them to start producing disc variants, and am looking at the R30 or R42. Word is that they assessing market for discs and will start producing when they feel its worth it for them

Thanks everyone for the answers.

I ended up buying these ...

Currently on special at CRC for $315 (reduced from $450).

They seem to have been built from decent quality components. Hope they are ok.

Yeah, these are good for the flyweight goats out there who like hills, however advice I've had from Kotavelo is that for the clydesdales (80+kg) amongst us you are better off with their deeper wheelsets.
