Gold Coast Second Hand Bikes??

I've looked around a few Gold Coast bike shops for a Road Bike. Most shops only have new bikes. They are nice, but I'm not sure that is the best thing for me at the moment, and I feel i should consinder 2nd hand at the very least. My uncle has an older bike which was quality at the time, and I'm looking for something like that. However I don't know if there are any shops who specialise or at least deal in second hand bikes on the gold Coast, (or Brisbane for that matter). I'm hesitant to deal with ebay as I don't have much knowledge I've read quite a few articles in this forum on buying 2nd hand bikes. But I would prefer to buy off a shop. I'm only relatively new to cycling (300kms in 2 weeks).

If anyone has any ideas, or know of any places on the gold coast or in brisbane, I would appreciate it.

Sadly mate, bikes are now a throw away item. There are few markets for second hand bikes outside of Crime Converters and the like. Sydney has a couple, probably due to the size of the place, so hopefully someone from your region can chime in with something - I'm in Adelaide so can't claim to have 'local knowledge'. While you're waiting for a reply here though, have a browse through the main site of this forum - http://www.bicycles.net.au . Christopher has put up quite an extensive list of links there and maybe one of them will help.

Hi sorry, I am not sure what is happening there. I only spoke to them a few weeks ago so can only guess their server is down?
